"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: . . " (Matthew 6:13a)
We face a very real danger in our lives. There is a very real war being waged between the forces of evil and the forces of good, between God Himself and Satan. We, as believers, are in this battle, and we’re in it to the very end. We need to turn to God for strength in times of temptation and realize that He understands the pressure we are experiencing. First Corinthians 10:13 assures us that, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” No matter what we face, it cannot overcome our God. Think about the temptations surrounding you and the ones you love. Use your prayer time today to pray for protection from and strength during temptation.
